I flew into Rome and headed straight to dinner at Pascucci al Porticciolo for what was a really lovely visit. A hidden gem in a part of Rome that was fairly close to the airport and quite an industrial area. The family vibe in this very humble restaurant was so lovely, wonderful hospitality and some very good dishes. I loved the snacks to start, loved the starfish filled with red tuna and capers. My favourites being the raw prawns with apple gel, seaweed and flowers, and also the roasted squid rose, with a squid broth to enjoy first. I wasn’t so keen on the ‘Mare’ dish, the shrimp powder was very strong. They used this and the ‘algae’ fairly often and it’s just a tad too much for my palate. It was a good meal, and I look forward to visiting again at a later date. The hospitality was so very good too.
