I was super excited to come visit Sally here, last time I saw her was at The Harwood Arms when I first arrived back to the UK, and now in her new role here, she is smashing it in all the ways. It is a slight mission across to this part of town, but so very worth it. Sally in my opinion, is only just getting her feet wet, she’s going to do incredible things here, and really fly high. One to watch. 

A starter of poached native lobster, shellfish cream, heritage tomato, sweet olive was excellent. 

The mains were good, the Cumbrian beef excelled, sirloin and rib, with oyster, turnip and horseradish, it was not quite game season yet, and if it had been, I know that would have been all I ordered as it’s an area Sally does well. Another area she is one of the best with, is pastry and desserts. I had been expecting good thing as at Harwood they blew me away, and here once more again. Nostalgic flavours and dishes, like the black forest gateaux, and peach melba pavlova, but I adored the apricot custard tartlet with yoghurt sorbet and Lemon thyme – so good. I came with my boys for this one, of an evening, probably wouldn’t again as the vibe is better suited to a friend’s night out or date night. 

Looking forward to returning as Sally continues to make her mark here in all the ways.
