Adam Handling’s new restaurant as part of his group. Ugly Butterfly had been originally open in Chelsea on the Kings Road, as I attended the opening party, that was winter of 2019, and sadly Adam lost it in the pandemic which makes this new site and UB mark two even more significant. 

It is a stunning location with a beautiful bar to behold when you first arrive, glass all around, looking out to a jaw-dropping view overlooking Carbis Bay. This continues into the dining area and it is a beautiful space.  

This is now Jamie Park’s baby, entrusted to him to run, and he is delivering in all the ways. He shares the same passion and vision as Adam for sustainability which is the ethos behind this. 

Classic Adam Handling group dishes, lots of paying homage to local ingredients, sustainability, and utilising many ingredients over different dishes and servings. 

All was great, the snacks – the smoke – all the wow factor as always and I never tire of it. I took my little foodies for this visit, and they were suitably impressed and loved everything. My oldest actually tried his first oyster, wasn’t quite ready for it but he tried all the same.

The bread, chicken butter and all the goodness- all the usual Adam treats, my favourite is always the Lobster in beef fat, and I also love the Mushroom black garlic, parsley dish too. Love black garlic. The deserts were all knock out delicious. This is a must visit if you head to Cornwall, at any time of year.
